L&D professionals attending Europe’s largest learning technologies event will hear how microlearning is transforming workplace training with startling business results.
Digital learning provider Sponge and award-winning, microlearning platform Axonify, will be sharing the stage on February 1 at Learning Technologies 2018 (London Olympia, 31 January – 1 February) to illustrate why microlearning answers many of the training and performance challenges facing businesses today.
The free session, called How microlearning is now a game changer for improving business performance, is presented by Julie Wedgwood, Head of Learning Strategy at Sponge, and Christine Tutssel, Co-founder and Senior Vice President, Strategic Initiatives at Axonify.
At a time when staying up-to-date with knowledge has never been more important, employees are reported to only be able to devote one percent of their working week to learning, according to Bersin. The big question is: how can organisations best use the precious time available for learning? The answer, as many businesses have found out, is microlearning.
“Microlearning frees the modern workplace employee to fit learning into their work day easily, every day,” said Julie Wedgwood of Sponge. “We will explain how and why it’s proved to be such a great solution to the demand for continual skills development in the modern workplace. We will share case studies to demonstrate where brain science based microlearning has transformed performance at some of the best-known organisations in the world, in key areas such as sales, customer service and health and safety.”
A recent survey of organisations by ATD found that around 40% were currently use microlearning. Of these, 92% said they intended to use it even more in the future.
“Axonify is delighted to be jointly presenting with Sponge at Learning Technologies to demonstrate how our platform delivers a significant impact on business results for the modern organisation,” said Tutssel. “Microlearning seems to be a hot topic right now, and we’ll demonstrate how the fundamental principles when combined with brain science create a powerful foundation for workplace learning practices.”
People attending the session will discover:
- How learning methods based on brain science are changing the way employees learn
- How personal analytics can support employees to take responsibility for their own learning and performance
- How spaced learning and retrieval practice can improve employee confidence with their knowledge and skills
- How social activities and gamification can drive up engagement and performance
- How global organisations are using microlearning to successfully meet real life challenges
