Do you have a passion for animation and video? Do you want to learn from industry experts? Then our brand-new creative academy could be right for you!

As an award-winning learning provider, we have more than doubled in size in the last two years fuelling our ambitious plans to further expand. As part of this, Sponge are introducing our very own academy, specifically focusing on animation and video. We are looking to recruit exceptional people to come and join our programme, and we are excited to share our knowledge and expertise with you!

What can you expect from our academy? 

Our vision is ‘using our creativity to help people learn and grow’. With this in mind, we have designed an academy, focusing on experimentation and development, supporting you to be the best you can be. We offer opportunities to work on client work, attend skills workshops and be part of our growing company culture.  

The academy will run for 12 months in which you will spend time discovering, developing, and then finally specialising in one of the following key areas:

1. Storyboarding & narrative development

2. Explainer videos & information design

3. Video editing & motion graphics

4. Illustration & character animation

5. UI/UX animation & animation for games

6. 3D & simulations

Whilst you will gain studio experience producing work for our global clients, you will also be given protected learning time within the academy. This will  allow you to further develop specific skillsets that will help you to succeed in your future career with us.

Gaining valuable on the job experience, you will be supported by your colleagues to produce high quality animation client work. Taking ownership, you will come up with a personal project that brings together everything you have learnt and more in the 12 months of being in the programme. Whether it is client or personal projects, you will get the chance to develop your existing skills and use your initiative and creativity daily. 

Desired Skills, attributes and experience:

  • A talent for animation and video
  • Ideally a relevant degree, or equivalent
  • Familiarity with software such as After Effects and Adobe Illustrator
  • High levels of creativity
  • An interest in technology and how it can accelerate learning
  • A desire to learn and grow
